Baby Swayde

Swayde is the son of one of my oldest and dearest friends Nicki.  We've known eachother for 16+ years and have just gotten closer with age.  When she told me she was having a baby, the excitement I felt for her was amazing.  It's a beautiful thing, to watch one of your closest friends discover the love that they have for this growing baby of theirs.  It's something you can't explain to someone who hasn't had a child.  But once you do have that miracle inside of you, your heart just grows... each movement, and each sonogram, you can't imagine loving them more than you already do.  But then you see their face, and for a second, time stops...and the whole world feels right.  And then your heart, never stops growing.

The day we went to see him in the hospital, my heart overflowed with love for him.  And I can't describe the happiness I felt for Nicki and Kyle, to begin on this journey of parenthood, to such a beautiful blessing.  He is a very loved and very happy little boy.  I am so blessed to have him in our lives.

We did these pictures quickly for Fathers Day.  It was an unplanned, very impromptu meeting, and he was ready for dinner and bed!  But this sweet boy, put on a happy face for me, and got the job done.  Way to go Swayde!

She will always be my baby

It's hard to remember sometimes, the sleepless nights, the struggles, the wonder if we would be able to be the parents that she deserved.  I feel like that time in our life was so long ago.  Now, life is easy, it's carefree.  We couldn't feel more blessed to have such an amazing girl to call our own.  We are more proud of her everyday, this girl we have molded.  And the love, oh the love...  But as distant as her infancy seems to me now, it still doesn't feel possible that this little baby of mine, this bundle we brought home from the hospital, will be turning 5.  She starts kindergarten in the fall, and I know I am not ready.  But, she is.  She's strong and independent.  She's kind and nurturing.  She will do great, and she will move mountains someday.  I am so in love with this girl, and I thank god for her.
Happy almost 5th birthday my baby!

Sweet sisters

When you think of taking pictures of siblings, the littlest being 2, you really just hope to get a couple great pictures!  Little ones, usually have a different agenda than what we hope for.  However, these girls were pros!  45 minutes and we were DONE!  And their parents couldn't have been sweeter!  Hope these two got their ice cream treats when we were done, because they deserved it!!

Clearly, I couldn't narrow down my favorites ;)
